Musings

mrimpossible_chaseThis book is gorgeous!

Frankly, that’s all you need to know. Anyone who’s read it, read it again (I just did and I’m in awe over what a wonderful story it is). Anyone who hasn’t read it, buy it NOW!

Well, that was a nice easy review. Where’s the chocolate? More importantly, where are the margaritas?

You want more?

Sheesh!

Actually I had a feeling I started another review in a similar way - I checked and indeed, I did. Not coincidentally it was for Loretta Chase’s most recent release YOUR SCANDALOUS WAYS.

Clearly I’m a fan girl.

And as a dedicated fan girl, believe me it’s high praise when I say this is one of my two favorite LCs of all time. The other, as you’d guess, is LORD OF SCOUNDRELS which is regularly voted the…

pamela_palmer2Writing a series in the romance genre differs from a series in any other genre. Generally a series follows the adventures of a single character and his/her companions or friends through a number of books. Think Harry Potter, Ron and Hermoine. But a romance is, by common definition, the love story of a couple which ends with their commitment to one another. Some authors continue that love story over a number of books, but that’s rare. And there’s a lot of debate over whether a romance that doesn’t end at the end of the book is truly a romance.

So then, what’s the alternative? How do you write a series of books that remain true to the romance construct? You create a world filled with living, breathing characters, then give ‘main…

Q&A with PEARL
WOLF

Q: What song do you put on when you’re driving in your car?

A: Actually, I prefer listening to Books On Tape when I’m in the car.
My absolute, hands down favorite Regency novel is SYLVESTER by Georgette Heyer.
He is handsome, wealthy, arrogant and clueless when it comes to what a woman
needs—my kind of hero. Phoebe Marlowe, the heroine, is perfect—she’s
independent, feisty, spurns him at first, which brings him up short, and finally
brings this haughty aristocrat to heel.

Q: What is your favorite Classic TV Show?

A:“As Time Goes By.” It’s a BBC sitcom rerun, which stars
my favorite actress, Dame Judi Dench. The story is about a second chance romance,
after the hero and heroine have already been married once to other people. When
they meet again, sparks fly. The dialogue is brilliant and…

Q: What song do you put on when you’re driving in your car?

A: Whatever song happens to be on the radio. For long trips, I’ll plug in my
iPod.

Q: What is your favorite Classic TV Show?

A: Cheers

Q: What is your favorite current TV Show?

A: Supernatural

Q: Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes?

A: I’m really not a big shoe person. I know that’s hard to believe! What makes
this even harder to believe is I used to work for a shoe store in college. My
current favorite pair of shoes are a pair of Aerosoles sandals that I’ve had
for five years. This year they decided to start to wear out so now I’ll have
to buy another pair. Did I tell you I hate shopping? Can you believe it?

Q: What is the…

Q&A with ALLEGRA
GRAY

Q: What song do you put on when you’re driving in your car?

A: I have a significant commute, so it usually goes something like this: before
kids are dropped off, children’s songs or Disney (sometimes they’ll let me talk
them into Sheryl Crow). After kids get dropped off, current rock/pop station
until it goes to commercial, then station-surfing because I can’t stand commercials,
then the classical station (I especially like Rachmaninoff).

Q: What is your favorite Classic TV Show?

A: Tough one..I’m a pretty on-the-go person, and the idea of sitting still
long enough to watch a TV show (especially an old one) is kind of foreign to
me. I do like movies though (usually action or fantasy).

Q: What is your favorite current TV Show?

A: Again, I don’t watch much, but I do like the show…
